Ben Jones versus Jason Cunningham, Commonwealth Featherweight Title

April 8th 2017, York Hall, Bethnal Green

Exclusive; Ben “Duracell” Jones and Jason Cunningham’s fight on April 8th 2017 will be for the Commonwealth featherweight title. In what was already being tipped as another York Hall classic, Hellraiser Boxing are proud to announce that the fight will now be contested for the Commonwealth crown.

Jones, 22-5-1 (10 KOs) was disappointed not to be fighting early in March but having been promised a “big, big fight” by promoter Mickey Helliet after his November 2016 shutout win over Carlos Osorio, is now seeing the rewards for his remaining unbeaten since 2014. Helliet said, “I’m glad to see that his (Jones’s) hard work is coming to fruition and hes got the best opportunity of his career, but to beat Cunningham he’ll, have to get it right on the night.”

Cunningham, for his part, is also on a good run of form, and brings a record of 21-3 (6 KOs) into the contest. Jason has won all of his fights since a 2015 decision loss to the supreme talent, and now WBA Super Flyweight champion Kal Yafai. The southpaw will be looking to take the Commonwealth title back to Doncaster with a fifth win in a row, but Crawley man Jones has been knocking on the door with the WBO and will not be wanting to let this huge opportunity slip.

An already highly competitive match up has now been added the glory and glamour of a top belt, and on what will be a packed card, should serve as the jewel in the crown of the show on April 8th.
