Brad Price Going For SEcond Pro Win

Brad Price is looking to dance his way to boxing glory.

The 24 year old welterweight from Swansea makes his next professional appearance at the York Hall in Bethnal Green on Saturday, February 2 – and he’s planning to put on a show.

“There’s more to boxing than just getting in there and throwing punches,” he said.

“It’s entertainment as well.

“I suppose it’s exciting to watch someone come forward throwing big punches and looking for the knockout – but I think people like to see something a bit different sometimes.

“I like to dance !

“I’ve never been to classes or anything. I learned going out dancing in Swansea on Saturday nights !

“We like a dance in Swansea !

“But I do study fighters like Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard and try to move like them.”

Price bamboozled Dylan Draper on his pro debut and says he’s keen to wow fight fans in the capital next month.

“The Welsh boxing scene is good,” he said, “but if you want to get noticed, you really need to get noticed in London.

“That’s where most of the big shows happen and that’s where you want people to see you.

“I want to build up a following in London. I want people saying: ‘Who’s that Welsh lad who can really dance ?’”

Price spars English super-middleweight champion Darryll Williams at coach David John’s gym and said: “It’s a tough spar. Darryll is ferocious. He doesn’t go in there trying to knock me out, but I definitely know he’s there !”

Price says he’s in no rush to fight for titles himself. He only had a handful of amateur bouts before turning pro and said: “I’m going to be serving my apprenticeship for the next year or so.

“I need to learn my trade. I’m looking to have as many fights as possible this year and then maybe I can step it up next year.

“The first goal will be the Welsh title.”
