Byfield To Fight British Title Eliminator, Vacates Southern Area

Super welterweight star, Asinia "D'Ghost" Byfield, 13-1 (5) from Reading, Berkshire, has this week relinquished the Southern Area Super Welterweight Title in order to concentrate his efforts on winning the British Title at the same weight. He will now fight Tony Dixon, 10-1 (3), in a British title eliminator on the York Hall Brawl show at York Hall on October 7th.

Hellraiser promoter and manager Mickey Helliet said, "this is a fantastic opportunity for Asinia to put himself in a position to fight for the British title, this has always been our ambition. Asinia has proven himself to be of a very decent level and has improved massively over the last 12 months. He's been sparring world class fighters recently and is doing very, very well.

"To be able to go on a live national TV on Channel 5 and showcase his talent to the whole nation and overseas is reward for the massive amount of hard work he's been putting in. As he'll no doubt tell you, this is only the beginning!”

The Cyclone Promotions event, in association with Hellraiser Boxing, features Andrew Selby headlining against Maximino Flores in a WBC flyweight world title eliminator, and another Hellraiser, Robin Dupre, get a shot at the Commonwealth Cruiserweight belt where he faces fellow unbeaten Luke Watkins.

Three other 'Hellraiser' promoted fighters also appear on the bill; "Hollywood" Joshua Ejakpovi, Gelasius Taaru and debutant Terry Russell.
