Dagenham cruiserweight Robin Dupre has shelved his plans to quit boxing - because he still loves fighting.

The former Commonwealth title challenger was going to hang up his gloves after his last fight, a points win over Colin ‘Butch’
Goldhawk in July.

But he enjoyed the fight so much, he’s carrying on.

The 32 year old will be back in action on manager Mickey Helliet’s show at the York Hall in Bethnal Green on Friday, November 29 that’s topped by Philip Bowes and Akeem Ennis-Brown clashing for the British and Commonwealth super-lightweight titles.

Dupre said: “After I lost to Chris Billam-Smith I was a bit down and thought: ‘Get a win and call it a day.’

“That was the plan going into the fight in July.

“But I felt rejuvenated during that fight, I really enjoyed it. I feel remotivated now and I can’t explain why. I just feel in such a good place now. Training is going well and I’m enjoying my sparring.

“I feel how I did when I first turned professional. I’m OK financially so I’m not chasing money and the desire to win is still there.

“I’m not putting too much pressure on myself and not overthinking things and I’m enjoying it so much more.

“That’s a big plus for me.

“I’m just going to get on with it and see what happens.”

What Dupre wants to happen is to get a shot at the Southern Area title, currently held by Nick Parpa.

He said: “I’m going to get this one out of the way and then see if Mickey can make that happen.”
