Fielding vs Skoglund Added to Haye Bellew Card

Rocky Fielding will face Erik Skoglund for the WBC Silver super middleweight title at The O2 in London on 17th December. Fielding recently beat David Brophy in a round to take his Commonwealth title, while Skoglund pushed Callum Smith all the way in the World Boxing Super Series. Both men see this fight as a gateway to world titles in the new year.

Fielding said. “Skoglund has just come out of the Super Series and they are all classed as World class fighters, so I am up against a World class operator and whoever wins can go onto a World title next.

“He boxed well against Callum. He's got a good jab and his movement was good. People had doubts about the weight for him dropping down from Light-Heavyweight but it didn't look a problem. He's got a good boxing brain and I know that this is going to be a really tough fight.”

It is a step up for Fielding, and both men suffered their first (and only) professional losses to unbeaten Callum Smith. Hellraiser boss Mickey Helliet is excited by the matchmaking, and said, “This is a great opportunity for Fielding, and an exciting close fight for the fans.”

The bill is headlined by the rematch between David Haye and Tony Bellew, and also feature the postponed rematch between David Allen and Lenroy Thomas for the heavyweight Commonwealth title.
