Matin Murray has stated that he will never fight abroad again, after losing a split decision to Arthur Abraham in Germany this past weekend. The fight was Murray's fourth attempt at gaining world honours, and for a fourth time, he fell short.

The St Helens man claimed post fight: “I thought I had it.

"If it had been anywhere but Germany I would have got it".

Murray started well, landing body shots, staying out of range and disrupting Abraham when he got close. However as the fight moved into the latter stages, Abraham began to show his experience, landing in flurries, and proving that he is still one of the best in the business at conserving energy, and utilising it to its full effect when needed.

Murray wont be able to take much encouragement from losing a close affair. It will go down as an unfortunate experience, similar to his encounters with Martinez and Sturm.

So the question is, where does he go from here?
