Ollie Pattison relaunches his promising professional boxing career this month.

For Pattison, his light-heavyweight fight at the York Hall in Bethnal Green on Saturday, October 6 will be the first of a frustrating year.

The 28 year old from London Colney was ruled out of fighting for a belt in March with a bicep injury, missed out on another date after deciding to concentrate on opening his gym and suffered further disappointment when a show in August was cancelled.

Pattison says his time out of the ring hasn’t been wasted.

“I’m the type who’s always in the gym,” said Pattison, who’s won all eight fights, “and even though I haven’t boxed recently, I feel I’ve been progressing.

“I’ve sparred a lot of rounds with James DeGale and Frank Buglioni and that’s going to do you good.

“I’m looking to get some rounds under my belt now and push on.

“I’m hoping to be 10-0 by the end of the year and ready to go for the Southern Area or English titles.

“By the end of next year, I want to be knocking on the door of the British title.”

Pattison is convinced he has the tools to reach his Lonsdale belt target.

He had a 72-bout amateur apprenticeship with Finchley & District ABC before turning professional in 2015 and said: “I know I have the talent".

“I boxed good people in the amateurs who have gone on to do well and I’m more than confident I will get there.

“Naturally, I’m a boxer. I can box people’s heads off. But I’ve got the grit now as well. I can dig in and grind out results when I have to.”

Tickets for the show are available from 07495 985183.
